This kit includes:
All the fabric needed to complete the Banksia quilt top (over 2m beautifully coloured cotton fabric, 1.5m cotton linen fabric and 1.2m iron-on interfacing). Does not include batting, backing fabric, binding or pattern.

About 'Banksia

This design features fluid curves and organic movement, allowing you to bring the essence of native plants to life in fabric.

The pattern (not included) guides you through creating a striking 79cm x 111cm wall quilt, featuring the dynamic shapes and rich textures of banksia blooms and foliage.

  • This kit does NOT include the pattern. You will need to purchase the Banksia quilt pattern separately. You can find the paper version here and the digital version here.
  • The kit provides all the fabric needed for the quilt top only. Additional materials such as backing fabric, batting, and binding will need to be sourced separately.

What You Will Need:

✂ Sewing machine (or a needle for hand-stitching)
✂ Iron and ironing board (MUST be able to adhere iron-on interfacing to fabric)
✂ Sewing thread (neutral for piecing)
✂ Batting and backing fabric
✂ Basic sewing tools: Fabric & paper scissors, clear sticky tape, thread snippers (if available), pins, safety pins for basting, and a 2B or 4B pencil.

Materials required:

30cm square of baking paper (roughly)
neutral thread for piecing
assorted threads for quilting
batting
backing fabric
binding fabric

Skills Required

✅ You do not need to be an advanced sewer to complete this project.
✅ You do need basic sewing skills, such as stitching an accurate seam, whether following a straight line or a gentle curve.
✅ Quilting and layering are not included in this pattern. These stages are briefly covered in my book ‘Pieced’, or you can have the quilt professionally quilted (a common practice).
