So glad you’ve decided to make the Eucalyptus Dancing quilt!

Here’s a few extra things to help you along the way_

  1. Be sure to check out the ‘10 Simple Steps to a Piecework Quilt’ blog post, with gives a good overview of the process for making this quilt.

  2. You will need to stitch two pieces of interfacing together to have a sheet of interfacing that is large enough to cover the full-size pattern. I stitch them sticky-sides together, with a 1/4 inch seam allowance. You can then just ignore the seam allowance as you work with the interfacing.

  3. I use Birch medium weight iron-on interfacing, but am not particularly attached to a brand; just use something that is not too stiff.

3. I have some photos showing the layout for the interfacing pieces onto your fabric. This is simple intended as an indication of how you could lay them out to make sure that you have enough fabric for all your pieces. Really, what you just want to be sure of, is to lay out any large pieces first, then fit the smaller ones around those. Also, please DOUBLE OR TRIPLE CHECK that you have all your pieces laid out before you iron them down. Also make sure you leave room for seam allowances!

4. You can find some eucalyptus drawings to use as quilting designs in the tabs to the right.
