Piecing a botanical quilt
8th and 9th November
9am - 3pm
Ruth’s studio: 37 Rushton Tce, Mt Nasura

INCLUDED
:

Two days full of learning and implementing new skills!
Morning tea and lunch
Kit including interfacing and fabrics for the quilt top (colours may differ from the image; you will be able to choose between a linen background, or a pale blue background)

Description:

Using a pattern designed by myself, we will work through my process for piecing a pictorial design to form a small (50 by 50cm) botanical quilt. Starting with a full size pattern, we will use iron on interfacing to translate the pattern pieces to fabric, and will learn how to stitch all the pieces together. You will love watching your design take shape! You should be well on your way to completing this quilt top by the end of the class.

Class requirements:

Pencil (pref 2B or 4B, but otherwise HB)
Fabric scissors
Thread snippers (if you have)
Iron (a regular iron, NOT a low heat iron – must be able to adhere iron on interfacing to fabric)
Sewing machine with which you are familiar
Sewing thread in a neutral colour for piecing
Pins
Safety pins (if we get as far as quilting)
A large ziplock bag (for transporting quilt pieces back home
